How many sessions do I need?
After your initial assessment, your Fernwood Movement Academy Therapist will provide you with recommendations based on your needs. The majority of our clients have embraced our services as part of their healthy lifestyle and therefore work with us regularly on an ongoing basis. If you are in pain, our therapists will be able to provide a more specific recommendation catered to your needs.
Do you offer virtual sessions?
Yes. We offer 50-minute virtual sessions to allow you to work with one of our team from the comfort of your home.
How do you differ from other clinics and studios?
Fernwood Movement Academy starts with the belief that everything is connected. We start by looking at the global picture of how your body is ordered and balanced, how your body moves, and how one issue can lead to problems elsewhere. This helps us look strategically and systematically at the root cause of any pain, dysfunction, or areas holding you back from performing at your best.
What training do your therapists have?
Our therapists are all Registered Kinesiologists with a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree. In addition to their professional training, our therapists go through rigorous and ongoing internal training on the Fernwood Movement Academy treatment approach.
Do you accept health insurance plans?
Our therapists are all registered and therefore will be accepted by health benefit plans. We do not direct bill at this time, however a receipt with all necessary information for you to submit will be provided.
We do direct bill for clients claiming their appointments through ICBC, just bring your claim number to your first appointment! Please see our ICBC page for more information.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule our session?
Per our cancellation policy, if you need to reschedule or cancel your session we require 24 hours advance notice. If you cancel your session within 24 hours, you will be charged for the session.
If you are feeling unwell, we ask that you do not attend your session for the safety of our staff and clients. If you need to cancel due to illness, please contact us as soon as you know you are unable to attend your session, and we will try to reschedule your appointment.
